Is this Berlin Season 2?

Yes. This is the second season/next installment of Netflix’s Berlin, the spin-off based on the character Berlin from Money Heist. Netflix’s Tudum page describes it as the continuation of the story centred on Berlin before the Royal Mint heist.

The first season of Berlin came out in 2023 and focused on Berlin’s earlier life, before the events of Money Heist. The new installment moves the action to Seville and raises the scale with a heist connected to one of Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous paintings.

Why is the painting important?

The title refers to Lady with an Ermine, a real painting by Leonardo da Vinci. In the show, the painting becomes the centre of Berlin’s new heist plan.

This is a clever choice.

A normal robbery would be about money. But a Da Vinci painting adds prestige, mystery, and danger. It also suits Berlin’s personality. He is not just a criminal. He sees crime almost like performance art. For him, the heist must look beautiful.

That is what makes this title interesting. It connects high art with high crime.

Why fans should watch it

  • Berlin’s return
  • A stylish art-heist setup
  • The Money Heist connection
  • Seville as a fresh location
  • A plan involving a Da Vinci masterpiece
  • The mix of crime, romance, ego, and revenge
