Hollywood Arts Release Date, Cast and How the Victorious Spin-Off Brings Trina Vega Back

Trina Vega spent Victorious insisting she belonged in the spotlight. More than a decade later, she is returning to Hollywood Arts High School from a very different direction: through the faculty entrance. Hollywood Arts, Netflix’s new continuation of the Nickelodeon sitcom’s world, premieres October 15, 2026, with Daniella Monet back as the gloriously self-confident performer who still has not landed her big break.

The clever part is that the new series does not pretend Trina suddenly became a polished mentor. She arrives as an unqualified substitute teacher, initially clashes with the school’s ambitious students and remains distracted by her own career. That gives the spin-off a workable comic engine: the least obvious person to guide a new generation may be exactly the adult who understands how badly they want to be seen.

What is Hollywood Arts about?

Hollywood Arts is a music-driven American comedy set at the performing arts school introduced in Victorious. Trina returns to her alma mater as a struggling actor and unexpected substitute teacher. Netflix’s official synopsis says she both clashes with and inspires a group of talented students as they try to find their paths through music, dance, comedy and performance.

That premise makes the series a continuation rather than a straightforward revival. The campus, comic tone and several familiar faces connect it to the original show, but the central students are new. Viewers do not need to remember every episode of Victorious to follow the story. Knowing Trina’s history, however, adds a useful joke beneath almost every classroom scene: this is the former student who was often more convinced of her talent than anyone around her.

The series is rated TV-G and Netflix categorizes it as a kids’ musical sitcom and television comedy. Paramount Television Studios produces the show for Netflix.

Hollywood Arts release date and where to watch

Hollywood Arts premieres on Netflix on October 15, 2026. Netflix has confirmed the date through Tudum, its official title page and the Netflix Media Center. The series arrives one day after Love Is Blind Season 11 and a week before Nobody Wants This Season 3, making it part of a busy October slate.

Netflix had not publicly listed a complete episode count or individual episode titles at the time of this update. Those details should not be guessed from the structure of the original show.

Daniella Monet returns as Trina Vega

Building the spin-off around Trina is a bolder choice than simply recreating Tori Vega’s original journey. Trina was loud, persistent and almost impossible to discourage. She could be exasperating, but she also understood rejection better than most characters in the franchise. The adult version remains an aspiring performer, which keeps her from becoming the all-knowing teacher common to school comedies.

Monet also serves as an executive producer, giving the returning star a role in shaping how the character and the larger Victorious universe move forward. In Netflix’s official trailer interview, she said the production kept the original audience in mind while opening the story to new viewers. That balancing act is the project’s biggest creative challenge. Nostalgia can bring people through the door; the younger ensemble has to give them a reason to stay.

Meet the new Hollywood Arts cast

The main student ensemble brings together young actors and performers with backgrounds in family television, film, music and digital entertainment.

  • Alyssa Miles joins the central cast after appearing in the family series Hanging Out with Alyssa and Xavier.
  • Erika Swayze has credits including School Spirits, Davey & Jonesie’s Locker and Workin’ Moms.
  • Emmy Liu-Wang will be familiar to Disney audiences from Raven’s Home and Slumber Party.
  • Peyton Jackson has appeared in The Woman in the Yard and Young Dylan.
  • Martin Kamm rounds out the main group, with previous credits including Unsung Hero.

The trailer also introduces appearances from Kira Kosarin, Lexi Rivera, Sofie Dossi and Taylen Biggs. Netflix describes them as part of the expanding group of rising performers in the new Victorious universe, although it has not presented every one of those names as a season-long lead.

Which Victorious characters are coming back?

Trina is not the only bridge to the original series. Yvette Nicole Brown returns as Principal Helen Dubois, the administrator whose history with the school goes back to the Drake & Josh and Victorious era of Nickelodeon comedy. Eric Lange guest stars as acting teacher Erwin Sikowitz, while Matt Bennett appears as Hollywood Arts alumnus Robbie Shapiro.

Robbie’s return includes Rex, his ventriloquist dummy and longtime comic partner. Their presence is a particularly direct piece of continuity. It also lets the spin-off show what happened to a former student without shifting the whole series away from its new cast.

Victoria Justice has not been announced for the first season. The trailer’s references to Tori and Trina’s old rivalry are part of the character history, not confirmation that Justice appears. The same caution applies to other original stars: absence from the announced cast does not prove they will never return, but speculation should not be presented as a cameo announcement.

The music is central, not an afterthought

Victorious worked because performance was built into the setting. Hollywood Arts follows that model with a new soundtrack rather than using the school as decorative nostalgia. “Here to Stay” serves as the theme song, and Republic Records: Kids & Family will release the official soundtrack alongside the series on October 15.

Netflix says the album contains 16 original songs, including pop numbers, ballads and ensemble performances. That is a meaningful clue about the show’s structure. The new students are not simply playing characters who happen to attend an arts school; their singing, dancing and stage work are designed to move through the season with them.

Who created Hollywood Arts?

Jake Farrow and Samantha Martin serve as showrunners, writers and executive producers. Farrow previously worked on Victorious and iCarly, while Martin’s credits include Henry Danger and Danger Force. Their combined experience places the new show firmly within the rhythm of Nickelodeon-style ensemble comedy while giving it a fresh set of students.

Daniella Monet, Shauna Phelan and Jonathan Judge are also executive producers. Judge directed and executive produced the pilot. Paramount Television Studios is the production company.

Why this spin-off could work

The most promising decision is the refusal to turn Trina into somebody unrecognizable. A neat, conventionally successful adult version of the character might have felt respectful, but it would not be especially funny. Letting her remain professionally frustrated—and then asking her to advise talented teenagers—creates friction the series can use week after week.

The second smart choice is treating the original characters as connective tissue rather than the entire premise. Principal Helen, Sikowitz and Robbie can reward returning viewers without asking the younger cast to spend every episode reenacting old jokes. The Asphalt Café, performance spaces and school hallways carry their own nostalgic charge, but they are useful only if new friendships and rivalries take ownership of them.

Watch the official Hollywood Arts trailer

Netflix’s 95-second Season 1 trailer introduces Trina’s new teaching job, the student ensemble and several returning faces. The official trailer is available on the Netflix Tudum trailer page and the show’s Netflix title page.

Reviews and Season 2 status

The series has not premiered, so there is no reliable critical consensus or stable audience rating yet. Any IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes score appearing before viewers have had time to watch the season would be too early to treat as representative.

Netflix has not announced Hollywood Arts Season 2. For now, confirmed information covers the October 15 launch, the first-season cast, the trailer and soundtrack. Renewal predictions remain speculation until Netflix or Paramount Television Studios makes an official announcement.
