Toilet: Ek Prem Katha hit the screens yesterday. This was the most awaited movie of the year for two reasons; firstly, it stars Akshay Kumar and secondly, the theme of the movie is Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
After Jolly LLB 2, this is the 2nd Akshay Kumar movie in 2017. Hopes are high and it’s expected that Toilet: Ek Prem Katha will make it big at the Box Office. The Khiladi has been giving us some really good movies; this is the reason audience was looking forward to the movie.
Although the movie opened to positive reviews, the collections were not as expected. On the opening day, the film minted above 10 crores but the numbers could have been better.
Here’s what the first day collections have to say

On the opening day, TEPK collected 13.10 crores; it’s good that it got a 10 crores + weekend, but the numbers should have been certainly better, don’t you think so?
TEPK released in 3000 screens in India, morning shows didn’t go that good as occupancy rate was just 30 percent. However, the pace picked up during evening shows. The kind of buzz that surrounded the film showed that it might cross 15 crores on the 1st day but sadly, the collections were only 13 crores.
However, it can make it big as Tuesday is again a public holiday as it is Independence Day; stability is needed on weekdays too if the film wants to achieve a good total.
