Early Life
Nomaswazi Mamakoko and Trevor Thamsanqa Tutu gave birth to Thahane in Orlando East. Originally from South Africa, she is the granddaughter of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. After moving to Cape Town, she attended Milnerton High School. She graduated with a degree in accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand. She graduated from the New York Film Academy’s 1-Year Conservatory program in Acting for Film in 2018.

Career
The first time Thahane appeared on screen was in a 2013 Edgars commercial. In the anthology eKasi: Our Stories, she appeared in the episode titled “Drama King”. The following year, she returned for another installment, “uManqoba”. As Fundiswa, she appeared in season 1 of Saints and Sinners and reprised the role in season 2.
In 2015 and 2016, Thahane gained prominence as Enhle Tango in the SABC1 soap opera Skeem Saam. She joined the cast of Mzansi Magic’s televnovela The Queen as Amogelang Maake. For the first two seasons, she was a series regular and then a recurring character. The SABC3 series It’s OK We’re Family starred her as Leshae K. For Lockdown seasons 4 and 5, she played Katlego Jali.
She began playing Wendy Dlamini in the Netflix teen crime drama Blood & Water in 2020. The same year, she appeared in the BET Africa series Isono and was appointed a brand ambassador for Garnier Even & Matte. Additionally, she appeared on the reality show Top Billing.
