Early Life
She was born in 1997 in Oxford City, England, but her roots are deeply rooted in Indian and Tamil cultures. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Oxford University.
She was born in Perth, Scotland, the daughter of medical professionals. The family was Tamil. Her parents separated when she was two, and she moved to India with her father, where she lived with her grandparents in Tamil Nadu.
Education
When she returned to the UK when she was four, she attended school in Liverpool. She then boarded at Moreton Hall Preparatory School in Suffolk for six to eleven years before settling down with her mother in Oxford for her teenage years while her father lived in Wales.
Chandra completed her sixth form at Oxford High School. In 2019, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from New College, Oxford. During her time at university, she participated in several productions and joined the National Youth Theatre.
She worked part-time for the New Policy Institute during a gap year in which she pursued drama as a hobby before deciding to make it her career, turning down a job offer from BCG.
Career
Chandran was cast as Sabina Pleasance in the second series of Alex Rider on IMDb TV in 2021. Having auditioned before the first series aired, Chandran starred as Edwina in the second series of Shondaland’s Netflix period drama Bridgerton in 2022.
She interned at Global Water Intelligence in February 2016, where she reviewed data about desalination plants in the US and studied sanitation and sewage systems.
