Early Life
In 1990, Minnie Dlamini was born in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa. She has a father named Jabulani and a mother named Queen Dlamini.
She was later nicknamed Minnie by family members, and the name stuck. Her brother Khosini Dlamini and she both grew up in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
After attending Northlands Girls’ High School, she studied film, media, drama, and economics at the University of Cape Town.
It was inevitable that South African superstar Minnie Dlamini-Jones would become famous. Her star qualities were evident even when she was still in diapers.
Career
Dlamini made her first screen appearance while covering the “Youth Day” and “World Cup celebrations” shows at the University of Cape Town on 16 June 2010.
Later in her career, she co-hosted Mzansi Insider, a lifestyle show on SABC 1.
Her acting career led her to resign from the show in 2012.
After co-hosting Soccerzone with Thomas Mlambo in 2013, Minnie moved into sports broadcasting, until SABC 1 changed the format of Soccerzone in 2016.
Since then, she has co-hosted several local and international awards ceremonies, including the 14th Metro FM Music Awards, the 2016 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards, the PSL Awards, and the South African Film and Television Awards.
