Indians not only love to watch cricket but are also fond of playing it but the problem that cricket lovers of big cities face is the scarcity of grounds.
On Wednesday, playing cricket proved to be a very big mistake for a group of 5 men, who are in their 30s, as they were beaten and stabbed by unidentified hooligans for playing in a park of New Delhi.
As per police, Gokul, Nikhil, Sandeep, Abdul Samad and Narender, residents of Lado Sarai and Mehrauli areas, were playing cricket at around 6 pm in Jamali Kamali Park, South Delhi.
Another group came there and it also wanted to play at the same spot where these five were playing.
When the first group refused to leave the place, they were beaten with bats and blades by the second group.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Chinmoy Biswal, told that these five were admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Trauma Centre and three of them (Nikhil, Gokul and Narender) were discharged a little later.
We understand that cricket is almost like a religion in our country but violence in the name of cricket is absolutely unjustifiable.
