Linkin Park star Chester Bennington left everyone in grief after he hanged himself to death. It has been stated that he was fighting depression and lost the battle against it. The music legend is survived by a wife Talinda Bennington and 6 children.
In his last interview with Mirror, four months back, Chester talked about depression, the problems he was fighting with and how hard it has been for him.
“I came to a point in my life where I was like, ‘I can either just give up and fucking die or I can fucking fight for what I want.’
But he was able to cope with the things so far,
“And I chose to fight for what I wanted. I wanted to have good relationships. I wanted to love the people in my life. I wanted to enjoy my job.”
He added that Linkin Park’s most recent album, One More Light, was “therapeutic’, both for him and for the rest of the band. It allowed them to express some of the issues they’ve dealt with in a very public manner.
Chester revealed that before work on the album started, he was in the ‘darkest time’ of his life, but didn’t go into what was exacerbating his mental health issues. Discussing the gestation of the album, he said:
“We brought in various issues and situations into the writing process.”
“When you hear it in the context of the music, there’s a hopefulness and there’s a sense of moving forward and moving on, and that’s really where we’re coming from.”
It’s sad to notice that he proved himself to be a survivor just 4 months back and now he is no more in this world. But he will remain immortal thanks to the music he created. His voice will remain between all of us forever.
